We are pleased to announce that the Taiwan branch was established on September 6, 2024 as the first step of overseas expansion.
The online international exchange platform, “WorldClassroom”, connects students worldwide through classrooms. Schools in Taiwan have been partnered with “WorldClassroom” since October 2022, and as of September 2024, 140 schools are realizing the potential of international exchange with Japanese students through “WorldClassroom”.
The expansion of “WorldClassroom” has been highly evaluated. In “the 2024 AI+ Taipei Startup Pitch Contest”, we were selected as finalists for our outstanding potential to the future of AI with the development of “WorldClassroom”. We also participated in the “Japan-Taiwan Innovation Summit 2024”, which was held for 2 days from September 17 to September 19.
This year we have been recognized as a “EDU-Port Japan” platform member organization. “EDU-Port Japan” is a project by the Japanese government which aims to expand a Japanese-style education focusing on public private collaboration. We will be working for the further overseas promotion of “WorldClassroom” through the project, developing mutual understanding between Japan and other Asian countries.
Taiwan education has put an effort into the development of its English education. Since communication with foreign schools has been one of their educational policies, the demand for online international exchange programs and school trips to Japan is increasing.
In June 2024, the Taiwanese students who already had many online international exchanges in “WorldClassroom” visited a partner school in Okinawa and had a fulfilling exchange with the Japanese students.
We will continue to develop our service in Taiwan, providing students with many opportunities to make friends around the world and experience diverse cultures.
