Awich and HelloWorld holding “Know The World” project for the second consecutive year.

HelloWorld and internationally acclaimed Japanese hip-hop artist Awich will jointly hold the “Know The World -Awich Global Education Project-“, which provides free English learning opportunities for high school first graders to those under 22 years old in Okinawa Prefecture, for the second consecutive year.

This project was launched by Awich, who wanted to contribute to solving the issues in Okinawa’s education, as an opportunity for young people in Okinawa to encounter the world and carve out their own lives, in order to solve one of the social issues in Okinawa, where Awich was born, the problem of child poverty and disparities in experiences.

We will provide our Machinaka Cultural Exchange, a homestay experience at the homes of foreigners in Okinawa Prefecture, to 100 high school first graders to those under 22 years old from low-income households in Okinawa. After the homestay,  we will provide free short-term study abroad in Atlanta, USA, to three people. Through the international exchange experiences and studying abroad, we aim to provide opportunities to think about their own future and foster a spirit of “turning adversity into their own strength.”

In this second year, we will invite three students from Atlanta to Okinawa for the purpose of having young people from “Okinawa” and “Atlanta,” who Awich says are in similar circumstances, stimulate each other and gain new perspectives.
