HelloWorld selected as an winning startup by J-startup OKINAWA

We are pleased to announce that we have been selected as one of the first winning companies for “J-Startup OKINAWA”, a project that aims to support startups and to bring new value to the world jointly administered by the Okinawa General Bureau of Commerce and Okinawa Prefecture.

We have been developing international exchange services such as “WorldClassroom,” “Machinaka Ryugaku,” and “Machinaka English Quest,” and have continued to grow as we aim to expand both social impact and business. In the future, we will become a “multicultural global infrastructure company” from Okinawa to realize a diverse society by further deepening cooperation among industry, government, and academia.

Outline of “J-Startup OKINAWA

In 2018, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) launched “J-Startup,” a program to support the development of startup companies that can compete globally and provide new value to the world through innovative technologies and business models. “J-Startup OKINAWA” was launched in August 2024 as a regional version of this program.

Five companies, including our company, were selected for the first round of selection in 2024.

J-Startup OKINAWA, under the joint secretariat of the Okinawa Prefectural Department of Commerce, Industry and Labor and the Cabinet Office’s Okinawa General Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, will select promising local startups that are ready to take off nationwide and globally, and provide intensive support through collaboration between public organizations and private companies to help the selected companies achieve rapid growth.

The program also aims to strengthen the regional ecosystem by identifying a group of promising startups from Okinawa and establishing a region-wide system to support and encourage their businesses.
